Bore and resleeve or stroke?
I am planning on doing something to my motor before i go turbo. My car is going to be a everyday driver so i dont want anything to extreme. I was wondering if i just bored it out to a 2.0L or a 2.2L and got low compression pistons and got it resleeved would this setup be good? Or would i have to change the cams, camshaft, rods, and all that stuff? What type of pistons and rods should i get? I know Eagle makes good sleeves but who else makes good ones. Also, what type of valve springs should i get?
I hope you guys realize that you need to approach an alll-motor build differently then a turbo build, adding a turbocharger to a really good all-motor setup would be dumb.
i bought the low-comp. JE pistons, eagle sleeves, rods, crane's turbo cams, etc etc. as for the valve springs, i've had some recommendations from a few people but i'm not sure yet either. i should SEARCH HT to see what has worked great for others here. if i were you i would change out the insides of the engine too. i know that i really DONT want to find out how much boost an OEM part can actually handle before it punches a cute little fiery hole into something.
all of the all-motor NA setups that i have seen so far have been pretty high compression ones. it would not be cool to have a really nice, built engine grenade into itself because of incombatablility with a turbo.
