Default BUILT LS/VTEC- BEST TRANNY

I have a built ls/vtec, i had a gsr without lsd and i bought i type R with lsd and i broke the housing. The gsr felt faster in my car i think mainly because of the longer gears what is the best tranny for a built ls/vtec? My motor is built top to bottom pushing maybe 210 to 215, please help

Try to get either a 4.78 or contact ATS both of my civics have 4.92 and a friend of mine has ATS 3-4-5 night and day with whatever tranny's you've had.

b16 1-4th LS 5th.. freeway mileage! a lot easier on the wallet when daily driving your car on the freeway.. this is all motor.. i don't use 5th on the track anyways.. and i don't know anyone with a street car that does either?

*edit* with ctr diff.

sean? james?

anyway the LS tranny for better turbo spooling is a very big misconception....do a search on it here and you will see. the faster you can get the rpms up the faster you can spool the turbo....an LS tranny is too tall for that purpose. you also dont wanna stay in any particualr gear too long....you wanna go through them.

oh by the way its me nate....

anyway as for this guys question.....what about a B16 tranny with LSD.

if you compare that the price of a gsr tranny and a ls tranny ... for you money .. the ls tranny will do wha it needs to do at the price you can afford ... might be missconception but for those who rode in my car while it was up.. kno the feeling my gears went to fast that i hardly could control... well after all whats are we sayin within the weeks to come the motor will be alive again in my brother car ..... we can feel this again .... now i do understand that the b16 tranny wit (lsd) phantom grim will suc but for a race car it will do the job

..nate thanks for response negg..

i would like to be able stay in my gears and use the horsepower i do have with the type r it seems like i was shifting too fast, when i had my gsr in it was nice but no lsd, now i bought a gsr and rebuild that one alittle with my old gsr tranny along with adding the lsd from the type r. I should have my car up and running tomorrow i will let everyone know how it feels, so has anyone tried an ls tranny for sure??? O yea i like to do everything i have a show paint job, and i try to go to the track along with the illegals and i love to do autocross also, not too much freeway racing up here in the mountains

the faster you shift, the faster you are accelerating
its physics...you can't argue with that

go for an S4C with an OBX/KAAZ/Quaiffe diff...and you'll be great. you coudl also swap over to a GSR/ITR sized diff with b16 bearings, and run a 4.786 JDM FD.
