Ok recently I just put together a Ls/vtec. I have a 94' bottom end with a 89 b16 head. I have Itr cams, i replaced the timing belt, water pump, and oil pump to gsr. At first i had a huuuge vacum leak from my intake mani and i seemed to figure out the problem with that. Now, it idles fine, but when I go to take off its the most sluggesh, boggy thing EVER! theres no throttle response at all it feels like its running realllly rich. But when I took it out to drive, the cat was CHERRY red. and i shot out a fire ball. I adjusted the timing to way retarded and wayyy advanced and still no change at all. I sometimes hear poping noises from the intake too. I do have a obd1 car, and I did get a b16 obd1 dizzy. I am still running off my LS ECU but the problem im facing doesnt seem like the ecu would effect it this much. also, i did not change the oil pump sprocket, im not sure if the ls and gsr ones are different. it kidna seems like a timing problem but at the same time it doesn.t. I have no clue please help me out with suggestions or maybe get in contact with me in person to trouble shoot this thing. the cars at my friends in gilbert, AZ. Thanks for reading -Gary

I think your car needs to get tuned.... ASAP. Hondata would be my suggestion. Take it to a shop and have them dyno tune your car. Make sure you have at least a VAFC. This is all on the presumption that everything is connected right and you knew what you were doing when you put the motor together.
