Got in a wreck today :(
Well it finally happened i got in a wreck about 3 hours ago. Thankfully no one was hurt or anything and i wasnt going faster then 5mph but im sad b/c my car is messed up. I hit this cavalier b/c all these people park next to my apt complex and block your sight of the road so to turn out you have to creep out ,look, creep some more then go well i was creeping looked left went then as i turned my head BAM! a cavi. i hit her passanger door and my bumper, hood, and fenders well definitley 1 needs to b repplaced and now i am scared b/c i cant open my hood and b/c the latch hook on the hood is bent and it wont clear the latch. no pics up right now i dont even want to look at it again it saddens me.
so we both got a ticket me for failure to yeild and she got a ticket b/c her baby seat wasnt strapped down and her kid was flipped over in it. but i have a feeling my $145 fine is more then she got charged.

Sorry to hear man I hate pulling out of intersections like that, especially when people park past the corner where there not suppose to be and block your view

cop was a dick to give you guys tickets for that, bad enough you gotta pay for the damages and what not.
but why wasnt her baby seat strapped down. that is not smart at all. she deserved the ticket. i hope she learned her lesson from a 5mph accident, and thankfully, not anything more severe that could have caused the baby to sustain injuries.

Sorry to hear that maybe they will give you enough money to get everything fixed. (I am assuming you have full coverage).

I'm just glad that you are alright. How much damage do you think this will estimate? Is it totaled?</TD></TR></TABLE>
thanks everybody. right now the estimate with all the major parts minus any brackets or small things broken is at 1,217.71 without paint and everything. glad i have full coverage.

I swear the stupidity of some people these days amazes me...
Not strapping a baby in, someone who can't fend for themselves and depends on other people for ever second of their lives, is alot dumber than not yielding properly when pulling out of an intersection that was obviously made less safe by the stupidity of still other people.
I think you should have gotten off scott free (ticket-wise) and all those cars parked there ticketed... unless they're legal parking spaces, then
on whoever designed it.

glad you're ok
if your insurance company just cuts you a check, fidn the parts in the classifieds or at a salvage yard, and try to do the work yourself, you can come out ahead on this. Full coverage insurance is great

yea i was planning on doing the work myself since its only the bumper hood and fender i still dont know about my left one though. but i do have a question for everybody I dont know if i should replace my hood or not. the hood is not damaged except for the latch hook. that was bent and i couldnt open my hood and when i finally got it open i had to pound it back to it was straight and since i pounded it the strutcutal integrity isnt the same and it bent the metal it was attached to. i dont want to take the chance of hanving it pop open on me yet if i dont have to to replace it that will lessen the repair cost yet want it to b safe so what would you guys do
imo, it should be ok to use as long as it still functions properly. It's a steel/metal part and bending it a bit shouldn't make it that much weaker........it's not like aluminum. but check to see if it still works correctly, and isn't too badly creased.....if these both check out, you should be able to use it again.
