SH Axle different that base?
Recently ive noticed that my CV is torn to ****, so its new axle time. My mechanic told me yesterday that the SH axle is "special". The only way to do what needs to be done, is to have this axle pulled, rebuilt, then reinstalled. I would like to avoid this downtime if at all possible. Anyone know for sure if the axle's are diff?? Its driver side BTW.
I know the atts would have something to do with this, but i thought it would connect to the passenger side. damn that atts unit, straight to the fiery pits of hell.

I'm not sure if the axle is different from the base. Maybe it is because of the ATTS, but I might be wrong.
When I had my lude, I had to change the CV boot twice in less than a year. I don't know why, but 5th gen ludes (especially type SH) are notorious when it comes to ripped CV boots.
If you have an account on PO.com, go check it out. They had a thread about ripped CV boots.

have you checked carquest or any other parts stores( whatever stores you have on the west coast)?
I got a set of remanufactured axles for 55.00 or 60.00 each. ( plus a core charge, but you get that money back ).

Drive shaft shop makes axles. Level one up to about 250hp. Will be the last set of axles needed. I would say it takes about 1 week shipping to get them and they would be specifically for the atts prelude model. I know that the stock CV boots rip easily on ludes so in the ong run, DSS might be a better deal for ya. just my $.02
Don't be too quick to dismiss the ATTS. If you do any kind of racing other than 1/4, I'm sure it's saved your *** a time or two.
I know it can be a pain in the *** sometimes, but its worth it. I'm sure you know that...but I'm just saying.
