Turbo B16 w/T3....what tranny?
What are everyones thoughts on the best tranny for a B16. Now the thing is that I am looking for this car to be daily driven and would like to really perform on the highway. So im looking for something with a top end. I know a hydro tranny off of a B16 is what a lot of people say but would that be best for my needs?
Yes I will hit the track but NEVER plan on being faster then 13s. I love HIGHWAY driving with friends and really looking for something with nice top end... any recommendations?
BTW...This is going in a 92 civic Si and im trying to keep costs down.

Looks like there aren't that many choices...I was thinking of just using a tranny out of an LS but everyone seems to think that is VERY negative.
I say GSR, because you still have short enough gears to get go response from a roll, but not to short to cruise at a low rpm. Yes, a ls is better for gas mileage, but if you want better gas mileage then why did you turbo your car? If you plan on going to the track at all the GSR tranny will be better unles you're trapping faster than 145mph, but that would put you a lot faster than 13's.
So, just my .02 I say GSR not LS.

Y21/S21 Y21/Y80/S80/S4C are the best. a GSR tranny is ****, it has longer gears than the Del Sol VTEC and the Type R. The del sol vtec and the type r both have the same tranny specs. however the 98+ type r's have a long 5th gear than the del sol vtec's did
