Oil leak...Help!!
I finally got my motor back last night. For those that didn't know I blew my piston rings so I had new stock pistons, bearings, rings, etc. installed by a professional shop. We got the motor in, cranked it over to build oil pressure, then started it. It ran good for about 3 seconds and then I started to hear a bubbling noise. I looked in the motor and saw oil spewing out of the back of the head where it meets the block. It was really hard to see where it was coming from but Im pretty sure it was coming from this area. I supplied a brand new head gasket for the shop, and you can see it so I know they installed it. There is only one way to put it on (unless you are a total idiot) so I know that can't be the problem. The only thing I can think of is that they didn't torque the head bolts but they insist that they did and it is only leaking out the back. Were not talking about a little oil here. It made a lake in my driveway. What else could it be? The shop was saying something about an oil sensor. They can't get it in till Friday. Help anyone?
Ok the shop says the oil is coming from the back of the block, not from the head. They still havent attempted to figure what is wrong. They said something about a dolley plug? Are there any plugs on the back of the block?

my bet is they didn't torque the head properlly. I had that same problem when i made that mistake. but mine dumped 4 quarts of oil in about 45 seconds. I'm a dumbshit.
They finally figured out that the headgasket didn't seat properly. Picking up the car today, its been a few months since Ive hit VTEC. Cant wait...

Just got back from hitting vtec a few times. The car feels smooth. New bearings, pistons, rings, valve adjustment, mobil one synthetic, new exedy clutch. The R is back!

broke in new pistons, rings and bearings with synthetic oil? You should have used regular oil for the first 1000 miles. I just had my whole bottom end built up. and thats what I was told I neeeded to do, no reving past 7000. But then again it might not make a difference

it doesn't take much to get a Honda head gasket to seat properly, if installed right on a clean block and head and torqued properly they work every time. They installed the head gasket upside down and that leads to instantaneous leakage every time !, no doubt about it. I hope they didn't charge you for the second head gasket and related work.

atta boy! beat on it right away. see how the compression test looks in a few thousand miles with that oil, too.
...don't kill the car right away. You just got it back.Make sure you keep an eye on that spot.......if oil comes out while you are driving...
