Yeah, do anything you want. I dont think you could think of any good reasons to do it though. Also, please don't ask if a b-series head will go on, I might just choke you.

put a d16z6 head on it, it flows better adn then just put the d16y8 intake manifold on that, get the best of both worlds

to what he said ^^^^
but, you wouldnt gain that much...like 2hp ...
im guessing you don't know much, your new, blah blah blah
the d16y8 and the d16z6 head's are about the best that come in the D series. you can mix and match between series. but you cant but a b series on a d series (head, block, tranny) so you pretty have the best that your gonna find out of mixing any d series, save what you would waste on a new head to go slower, (unless its the z6,they are about the same.) and hit up the forced induction site. its always nice to see a little blower on that d series.

the y8 head flows a little less (the ports are the same as the z6, but it has a little bump were the port splits), but makes up with higher compression (pent-proof camber)... so it would all be pointless... but, any d series head will bolt up.
the 99-00 y8 manifold has a cold-start air injection that 92-98 doesn't have...
may be a little southern engineering involved.

I know when you are doing a mini-me you have to remove a oil squirter. If you put a d16y7 head on a d16y8 block do you need to put the oil squirter back in? Just wondering.
yes you would have to put a oil squirter in...also just to let you know i saw a test of a stock z6 head, ported z6 head vs. stock y8 head, ported y8 head lets just say the stock z6 flowed better then the ported y8. it does have a nice combustion chamber though.

looks like you heard wrong....z6 flows alot better if you didnt read my post only thing that is good is the combustion chamber design.

dosn't mean its the best retardo. lol
z6 has les compression... they are both equal. both are damn good d series heads. but if you wanna boost them...now you might wanna decide between y8 or z6, which would you boost? or would you rather not boost a vtec at all? (reliability)

i never said it was the best...i said it was better then the y8 cause it flows better and you can always square the combustion chamber on a z6 as you can see a ported y8 coulnt outflow a stock z6....if im not mistakin the a6 head outflowed both.
Don't know about all that. Yeah the flow charecteristics may be slightly better but the better burning chamber design on the y8 gets the vote from me. You can make a y8 flow better if you were interested so either way....
