Is there a favored brand/type of coolant?
I flushed my fluid and filled with Prestone Quick Fill. It's already premixed 50/50 and has worked ever since. Even sitting in 100* weather for no matter how long, the needle will not move and the radiator fan hardly comes on. Stays in the cool side always. Also replaced the thermostat with a Honda OEM unit, so that also helps.

must of the cars running in honda challenge series and speed world challenge series dont even use anti-freeze they use sodium free water and redline water wetter additive or something along the same line
The redline with no anti-freeze is good but if you live in a place were it gets below freezing you will have to add anti-freeze which will make the redline almost pointless because they recommend only a 15% mixture. Also hondas have a optimum temp and run different until they reach that temp the cars that race reach much higher temps than a daily driver so the redline is good. I don't think it is necessary unless you ae running the **** out of the car everyday and live in Florida. If you do they make better stuff than redline redline runs around 15 deg less while this stuff runs around 40. I don't remember the name, but it is at auto zone its like $30 compared to redline that is $7

Honda Coolant only.
There have been studies that show Honda Coolant last longer and is less corrosive (most important).
Being less corrosive, it helps your gaskets and hoses last longer, ever wonder why Honda hoses last darn near forever???
If your car is NOT a race car, don't use anything but Honda coolant. It would be stupid to use anything else.
