Rolling the Fender
I just got some new rims and tires. The main problem now is when I drive, I can hear this rumbling sound coming from the tires. Sounds like the tires are scraping on some stuff in the front, near the engine. My second problem is the back tire. The fenders are scraping badly on them. So bad that i cant even have passengers in the back seats. I have a 99 accord coup ex. What are some tips in rolling the fenders. I heard someone talking about using a baseball bat to bend them. I just dont wanna mess up. Thanks in advance!
I've heard of people renting a fender rolling tool. It mounts to the hub or something and it has a roller that you use to bend the fender lip up without cracking the paint. Don't know if you can still rent them or where you would go but I remember reading about it here on H-T. Maybe search for "rolling the fender" or something in the archive would return some usable results.
What size tires and rims did you put on? I want to put 215-50 tires on 17x7 rims on my 2002 Accord Sedan EX-V6. Tirerack informed me that I would have to roll the back fenders. I been having a real difficult time finding a auto body in NJ that does fender rolling. I know you can buy fender rolling tool for about $300 at http://www.eastwoodco.com I don't want to spend $300.00 when I would only use it once plus I would rather have this done by a professional.
you can take a metal baseball bat, and jack the car up and then place the bat on top of hte tire, and let hte jack down so that the fender is putting pressure on the bat, and then start rolling the bat back and forth. If it is not enough, then repeat the process but lower the jack down more. I have seen a few of my friends do it that way, and you dont crack the paint nor jeapardize the looks of the fender.

........what size wheels/tires/drop do you have on yoru car....and BTW: 17x7 rub??...that seems like it woundt be an issue at all....

all my friends with accords have had 18's and rolled there fender like that. 17x7 shouldnt rub at all, 18x7.5 or wider should only have problems rubbing. unless ur 17's are like 8.5" wide with a hell of a offset, lol. i had to roll my last accord like that. i had 18"x7.5", with 215-35's on them and have always had Ground Control's with KYB struts

I have tired search, but no luck. i think they're 17x7s. My rear tires are the ones that rub, i have 225/45R17 on the rear and 214/45R17 in the front.
Anyone know what's causing the noises in the front? i can hear this deep roaring sound thats unblanced...its like rooo stops roooo stops rooo. And its also weird how my left tires dont rub as much as my right tires...

could just be noisy tires.

ya they very well could be noisy tires, i know the Parada Spec 2's are really noisy, cuz a couple of my friends have them. But as far as your left tires rub more is because you sit on the left side and more weight is pushing on the suspension. But just try rolling ur fenders with a bat, and the rubbing will go away.
