Default Lowered my car, but inside of the fender is stripping my tires!

I bought f2s which i love, but when i lowered my car i noticed that when i hit bumps in the road, my tires rub on the inside of the fenders. i took out the splash guards and saw that there with a little metal edge right in the middle. i guess when i hit bumps my tires bounce into that metal edge and it stripped a goove right in the middle of the tread of my tire. i thought about grinding it flat, would that fix it? or are my coilovers set wrong because they seem to bottom out. any help? thanks in advance

What size tires are you running? Are you using the stock bump stops? The tires really shouldn't be contacting the top of the fender liner.

whats he saying is to roll your fender. its really easy...but you might not be comfortable doing it.

If you are notcomfortable doing it, you can rent a fender roller it works great.

But agreed again what size tire

Also understand that he is not experiencing rubbing with the fender lip, his issue is with the centre seam that runs down the middle of the wheel well (hence the reason why he states that there is a groove worn into the middle of his tire tread).

i could, but i would rather fix it and keep it low. i dont know what size tires, but they are on steelies. so im not sure. the fender lip only rubs if i hit a big bump turning which doesnt happen very often, so im not worried about that.

What did you use to lower your car? Spring, cut springs, coilovers? if they are coilovers did you adjust the preload properly? as far as grinding it down...yes you could probably get away with it, i would have to see what it is thats causing the issue

I'd be careful about grinding it, as you could weaken the structure or even remove the welds. You are probably better off bending it, but either way, your tires really shouldn't be contacting that area.

thats actually one of the front subframe rails, very important structrual area of the car............i wouldnt, just stiffen up your suspension so it doesnt hit that adjust preload higer, and stiffen the shocks if they are adustale

um, how low do you have your car?
is the wear equal on both sides, or is one side contacting more then the other?

have you tried making your shocks stiffer?

since you lowered your car it is going to hanfdle what somepeople call worse, if you think a cadillac handles/rides well then civics ride like ****, handleing in the racing world means how stiff/predicatable/fast you can make a turn, this is not a grandma kit that looks good, you have a semi race street suspension if you dont like it sell it go back to stock

damn how low do you have this thing? I mean the lowerd look is one thing but I think youve taken this too far. mabe just get rid of your shocks all together and weld a tophat to a piece of pipe. if your car is that low your suspension is all but worthless right now anyways.
