Tranny Click.......
Aight so i have been having trouble with my tranny. The problem being everytime i go into drive and start to go i hear a clicking noise from my axles....The clicking comes and goes....anybody got any input on this.
Just when i first step on the gas....like right as it engages into Drive it goes click....also does it in reverse. I will put in reverse and barley get on the gas and it goes click....it is a quite little click....wish i could explain it better..
It might sound like the axles.....But I would check the motor mounts first. Have a friend look at the motor when you put it in drive or reverse. Hold the brake while doing this. If the motor moves alot check all the motor mounts and dont forget the rear motor mount. Its under the intake manifold.

i have the same problem....if it were the axles i would figure that there would be more symptoms...especially in corners, etc... it is kind of annoying though...anyone?
I've come across this problem many times before. Take off in drive, you hear a single click. Put it in reverse, as you accelerate....click. RIGHT??
Turns out to be that the axle nuts are incorrectly torqued.
To get rid of the noise, you'll have to loosen the axle nuts and then retighten them.

I think the lug nut tightening is too optimistic of a fix although it could be that simple. Our Civic does the same thing some times and I suspect it's backlash in the transmission / half shafts.
Mine does this as well (98 coupe) and I check the boots and suspension. Nothing was torn, worn, or broken. I'd say he ---^ has the best answer as to what the problem is.
Bringing this back up, but I have the same issue on my 97 Accord as stated in the original post. When I shift out of park to drive or reverse there is a single click, when I get on the gas from a dead stop there will also be a single click, and occasionally when the transmission shifts from gear to gear there is a single click. Any other ideas aside from tightening the axle nut as stated. thanks!
I had a similar problem. So we put the car on jacks and I had my friend shift from park to 4th, heard a click, then from 4th to reverse, heard a click. Turns out it was the rear motor mount and the front motor mount. The front one was completely separated from the rubber inside the mount. Had it replaced..........now it only clicks when I go in reverse ahahhaha (didn't do the rear one yet since its a bitch). Think I'll replace the side mounts too......might as well since they are right there anyways.
year of accord? my 94 does that in the winter time because the fluid has not thinned out enough it can be just the shift fork engaging as well
Mine clicks a split second after I start accelerating, but only if I just put it into drive from neutral. If I wait a couple seconds before accelerating, no click. (And yes, the tranny engages before I put my foot on the gas.) It's always done this. It doesn't do it again until I take the car out of Drive.
If I reverse, then apply the brakes, there is an audible click from the brake pads shifting inside the caliper. This only happens the first time I brake while in reverse.
I consider both of these things normal. I only mention them as a possible cause of your clicking.

When I put my auto in drive, it goes into gear (car starts moving), and about 1/2 sec later, it clicks. If I get on the gas right after it goes into gear but before it clicks, the car starts moving, but then there's a jerk when it does click. Seems like it goes into gear but slips a little, and 1/2 sec later it locks in. Is this a feature of the tranny that prevents it from being neutral slammed?
I'm not sure... I've never felt a jerk when it clicks, no matter how hard I'm on the gas.
I've also never tried a neutral slam (nor will I), so I can't even say if it is or is not possible on 6th gens.
