Default Spark plug change?

Is not due until 105,000 miles?!? Do the stock platinums really last that long? Or do they only last that long if the car is driven gently for 105K miles? If I don't need to change them, then I won't, I was just kind of surprised to see that they're good for this long... Thanks for any comments/info.

they recommend you to change them at 100,000 which in my opinion will be worth changing at the 60,000 mile service... The OEM spark plugs are also pretty pricey. I think they go for around 17-20 a piece at the dealer here.

My Owner's Manual says to replace spark plugs every 60,000 miles or 72 months...

Only if you're stock. With more aggressive engine mods, you should be at least checking it at every oil change and replace accordingly. Nothing worse than a fouled up plug robbing your power.

Dang. That much!!?!? I could get way better spark plugs for that price. Dealers seriously are a rip.

You can get the stock plugs from napa for about 10-12 each. much less than
the dealer wants. I would recommend you replace them every 30k miles
if you are looking for maximum performance. I replace them on my car
every other oil change(for those that dont know, I change my oil every 2 weeks
or 2k miles, whichever comes first).

Thats pretty much my schedule, I change the oil before 2500 and change the plugs after about 8000-10,000
