My 03 Odyssey only has 47k miles. I haven't bothered changing the plugs even though it's well past the 84 month recommended service interval. Lately I've only been driving 100 to 150 miles per month so I'm tempted to leave well enough alone. The car runs good and city mpg has been consistent over the life of the vehicle. I'll probably keep it at least 3 more years, but probably won't add more than 5k more in that time.

Any reason to change the plugs? The manual lists two -- NGK PZFR5F-11 and Denso PKJ16CF-L11. Any preference?

Stock vehicle, stock plugs. The factory stuff works well in those engines.

I would not worry about the engine at all.

I would focus on the automatic transmission. You got the 2 shaft version of the 5 speed auto. Some owners experienced issues with them - that does not mean you will.

If you have not done so, I would do a ATF drain & fill.

If you are a DIY person, I would do it 3X, to cycle it clean.

If you pay the dealer to do it, they will do it (only) once. Cost about $100.

Last year I got Brake Masters to do 3x for a bit more than $100.

Good point about engine. Despite the 84 mo change interval recommendation, I don't imagine age matters much on plugs.

Counter point: The rear banks of the V6 is a bit hard to get to.

IMO, spark plugs are "cheap." Not that appearance is a good indicator, but I pulled spark plugs that were 40-60K and they look horrible, and the engine was running just fine.

So although I would not worry about, changing it is not exactly a waste of money.
