Default autometer tach not working

im new in this forum so hi everyone! I have a stupid question, I bought a tach.. plug everything but the RPM wasnt good. I remember that in a civic, the rpm wire is blue with white point and I found this wire in my itr so i tap the green wire on it.. the rpm is always between 500 and 2000 so im almost sure that the wire wasnt the good one! If anyone can tell me were to tap, i will appreciate it! thanks (sorry about the english.. im a french guy hehe ;P )

Why would you need an autometer tach? The car comes with one, it's on your guage cluster.

I don't believe that answered his question.

Are you sure that the Tach isn't broken? My friend has his hooked up that way and it works fine.

Yep, consistently off so that instead of shifting at that red mark you just shift at a different spot. Not rocket science

I'm not saying I would replace it for that reason, but who knows, for some people knowing where the engine is at is important - doesnt mean anything to street driving stunnas like me, ed and dave.

For a race car I'd just replace the cluster with important gauges, tach, w temp, o temp, o pressure.

I'm doubting this is a race car though.
