does anyone know if a 2.25 cat will bolt up to a 2 inch header. The reason i ask is my header is 2 inches and exhaust is 2.36. Ive heard that the 2.36 will bolt up to the 2.25 no problem but but i dont know if it will bolt to the 2.25. i can get a custom 2 to 2.25 cat for 170. but if the 2 inch header will hook up to the 2.25 cat i can get a 2.25 in and out cat for 70. if you know please fill me in.

 

yes everything will bolt up perfect if the collector on the header is 2". im running the comptech 4-2-1 2" with a 2.25" carsound cat and 2.36" greddy evo and have no problems except its loud as hell ha.

 

hey, Mike....you dont happen to have the part# for that carsound cat you have do you? bc i think i need that same one bc i also have a 94 gsr and i have a comptech header and greddy sp cat back.......everyone i know that has that sorta setup has obd II, so the part# is diff.

 

while were at it does anyone know the part # for the 1998 ls carsound cat.

 

no i bought it used but it has 2 o2 holes, so one is just plugged up, it works fine tho. nevermind i still got the box- it is 94065

of course cuz you aint got resonator that why...if you are running comptech, im just curious why do you run 2" header and 2.25cat and 2.36evo....size is not constant i affraid you might not gain as much as u wish......

u can make anything bolt on anything...talking about 2" and 2.25 aint' a problem but you shouldn't do it...cuz piping is not constant the same size...performance might get worse or gain less than it supposes to gain...

well i think you should buy a 2.25 header and cat 2.25 and piping 2.25 for maximun benficial....exhust inlet 2.36 is ok...cuz at this point pressure going out at bigger diameter with shorter distance 2.36" inlet to whatever ur muffler tip is...

im sure you know im not recommending 2" header with larger piping after...no point just waste money...u might as well save up little more and do everythign at once

 

hmm i would have to disagree with you on that one. im no expert but i dont know of any 2.25" header. also i know the size isnt supposed to be one size like that unless everything is 2.5". somebody please correct me though

 

also i didnt get a 2.5" header so im not gonna change my setup. also why would anyone downgrader to a 2.25" exhaust? just to keep everything consistant? sorry i dont really get it
