oil pressure and engine temp
i did a search with no luck....
i just purchased some new gauges for my 93 prelude. the car runs great burning alittle bit of oil and leaking a drip or two if it sits for more than a couple days. i really wanted to monitor the oil though without ever having to worry about the stupid dummy light. anyhow i bought a autometer mechanical oil pressure gauge that ranges from 0 - 100 PSI. i was wondering on a healthy H22a engine (124k miles) with catback and short intake as the only mod's about what oil pressure should i be running ???Also i bought a water temp. gauge what whould be the average temp i should be running ??
thanks in advance for all your help guys !!

Your oil pressure will vary a bit, but lets say with 10W-30 you should be in the neighborhood of 55-65 psi around 4K rpm. I put some 20-50 in mine last oil change cause it was freakin hot here, and my pressure went up about 10-15psi. I'm pretty certain that Vtec requires 55psi to engage.
Water temps should be like 180-190, depending on the weather.

thanks man... guess i should also mention i have been running 10-30 royal purple synthetic for about 3 years now.
also, any one have any installation suggestions. these are going in a pillar pod. what im worried about is that dreaded buzzing sound i DO NOT want that at all.
i do have a small system installed in the car consisting of JVC headunit, alpine replacement speakers in stock location, one V-12 series alpine amp pushing a 12" alpine type R subwoofer. power wire connected directly to battery
any ideas on wireing up the gauges and avoided all buzzing at all costs !?
thanks again
