I would choose pressure, but if I am not wrong they both are effected in a kinda similar way. Higher temp higher pressure, but the pressure gauge would show it faster, and the oil can also lose pressure and stay at a high temp.

oil pressure most definitely....and go with the electrical sender not mechanical...you're like, "but the mechanical is cheaper!" yeah, but when that tube leaks 50psi of oil all over your interior OR you crimp it...you'll cry like a baby...haha
oil temperature doesn't matter much unless you autocross or something like that as you won't heat the oil up THAT much...only time oil temp comes into play really is like when you're EGT's are something on the order of about 900 degrees or higher (glowing manifold and turbo exhaust housing temperatures and above
) after that point the oil will start to break down...I don't see TOO many of us driving THIS hard on the street daily...
I went for the following gauges in the following order:
1. air/fuel
2. boost
3. oil pressure
4. EGT
that's all I'm really interested in to be honest

shutup, that crap happened to me! i had it mounted nicely in my glove box and it leaked all over this girls feet in the car with me one time. pretty funny.

I have the mechanical pressure gauge , and so far so good.
I'm not worried with leaks, I replaced the puny plastic hose with stainless steel braided hose

haha!!! yeah it happened to me too...only it hit my fuse box and melted the wiring from it shorting it all out...
oh and braided stainless tubing doesn't mean that it won't happen....
condom manufacturer's used to claim 100% pregnancy stoppage...too bad that all changed after a few OOPS! haha...
