All Motor / Naturally Aspirated No power adders

Default HELP WITH ALL MOTOR LS

i will be building a ls motor this winter but im now going to start buying the parts to build. i was thinking p30 pistons with crower 404's. i will have i/h/e already b/c the motor is already in my crx. the question i have is i want to have close to 12:1 comp.will i be able to mill the head to get that comp w/o a valve clearance problem? if i can mill it how much can i take off?

I have 20 milled and a two layer Head G. on my set up with a b16 head and my cr is about 11.9 but this is with a b16 head ..

Hmm.. Acutally why would you want to go such high CR? the 404's only need 11:1 maybe 11.5 to work best. At 12:1 get a pair of 405a and make some real power! then watch for clearances however!

P.S. building a nonvtec allmotor myself. So far I got the 404's on a stock bottom and bolt ons. Got a P8R head however! GL with your build.

Congratz on getting a P8R head, I keep my eyes open for one but doubt I will find one

i thought i needed higher than 11:1 to run the 404's. how streetable are the 404's?

Do some searches on dynamic compression, you will learn how to find out exactly how much Compression will be best for a given cam profile.

404s are beyond streetable.
