Engine cranks, Gets fuel, but NO SPARK
car: b18c in ek
the other day my car died on me while driving on the highway, tried to crank it and it sounds like it is about to start but dies.
Checked timing, its good. Its getting fuel (i can hear the pump and smell the fuel). But its not getting spark (tried to jump spark from the wires to a bolt). Swapped out dist's, and the problem is still the same
What could be the problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA

the rotor is good, just replaced 2 months ago. Someone was telling me it might be the main relay. but i searched on main relay's here and most topics relate main relays to getting no fuel.
hardwire the the positive on the coil straight to the battery and see if you get spark then.
not the best way to go about things but you'll know if it's the coil or not

you should still try to check the ignitor and the coil, i swapped out a perfectly working dizzy on my sister's car to check on my car and it fired up, but when i replaced it back on my sis's car, the coil went bad.

i once had your problem but and the answer came out to be that my cam gear slipped. but...ground your spark plugs to the chassis...crank to see if you have any spark.

I thought the same also but mine died when I did the swap.
Double check. If you can find someone with the same engine and swap the dizzy and see if it works.. infact check the blk/yel wire to see if you get 12V.
