Default After swap. Code 22

Engine: 1999 year B18C6 with original wiring.

ECU: P30 OBD-1

Car: 1993 Civic VTI 4D sedan

Throw code 22. The VTEC oil presure solenoid. Couldn't locate the solenoid.

If I put on B18 the B16 wiring the code will be gone, but i would like to find out.

solenoid is on the rear left of you valve cover. im not sure why its throwing the code though. i would take the solenoid off and clean it out. there is a possibility that there is metal, gunked oil etc in there.... should be (2) 10mm bolts holding it on. nothing too hard.

I'm not talking about the VTEC solenoid with presure swich conector. I'm talking about presure solenoid.

In OBD-1 must be:

pin A4 presure swich, if dose not work then code 21
pin D6 oil presure solenoid, if dose not work then code 22

How to compare with OBD-2 sytem engine? Where can I take the signal on engine for PIN D6.

Ok, VTEC oil presure sensor or something like that.

How I uderstand how the VTEC works. ECU recive the signal about revs and oil presure in engine, when presure busted till necesery level then "oil presure swich" open an extra oil chanels.

I do not have signal for ecu about oil presure in engine PIN D6 in ECU. Where can I get this signal from OBD-2 Integra engine to OBD-1 P30 ecu.

Or I'm total axe!

ECU recieves a signal at a certian RPM. tells the VTEC Solenoid to engage. but if the oil pressure isnt high enough within the solenoid you dont get the signal. when my car is cold. and ofter when its been run extremely hard. i lose signal and VTEC wont engage.

You mean something wrong with oil? I'asking this question because check all wiring, every plug in the place seems like everything are corect.

Newer ride with B18C6, wery good torque from begining, sadly VTEC wery bad. And I feel that there is no power in VTEC. Rewing hardly till 7500.

Did conecting directly to oil solenoid (located near oil filter at left side) to D6 pin in ECU. Then unplug - pole on batery, reseting ECU. Torn the ignition(till that moment when engine starts) no mistakes. And when engine starts only that moment code displayed. No, mistaces till engine run.

very odd. ide search out the wires to run, and where to run them and hard wire them. thats what i did. just run your own wires so you dont have to rely on the harness.

Sadly, your English isnt great so it is hard to understand you.
Probably because you are from Latvia

Let me start from the beginning.
Is the Vtec switch connected?
Is it wired to the ecu?
Correct placement?

I cant imagine that the B18c6 harness would be too different than the c5 or JDM R motor harness's.

thats why hard wiring would be the best bet because there may be flaws in pin placements on the plugs.

Here i found the pic:

This is the same solenoid as on B16A2(I found this picture in web):

In this pic you can see the "VTEC presure swich" and "VTEC oil presure solenoid" conectors. The green plug is oil presure solenoid and grey(in this pic it's rapleced to differnt type of plug).

So, my B18C6 VTEC soplenoid do not have that green plug for oil presure solenoid. I change the the B18 to B16 solenoids on cylinder head and make the conecting plug which conect with engine wiring. I find in engine room where this org/blu cable comes and conect it. The grund conection I did near starter where comes big grund cable.

Then code 22 lost and I enjoy the VTEC power of B18C6.

I will try to make the picture of all about, what was the problem.
