i have a turbocharged integra and i smell the fumes every so often... normally when i get on it i smell the fumes. i have a open wastegate and the breather catch can. its not a very strong fume scent but its kinda noticeable. especially if i have the heater or cold air on i smell it. do anyone know where the air vent air comes from in the engine bay? im just kinda confused on this and i dont wanna always smell the fumes. do u guys think its most likely the wastegate with no dump tube or the breather catch can? or can it be something else? where does the air from the air vent come from? i have no oil leak or nothing. TIA

 

Its because you are running open wastegate. If you do not want to smell it put a dump tube on it and route it back into your down pipe(you will loose some hp when doing this). You can also put a tube on it and have it point to the ground, this works also buit every so often you will smell it.

 

Put a dump tube on it and you'll be fine. I had a dump tube on my Integra aimed at the ground that exited right below the radiator support. When I put the Fluidyne in, I had to cut a few inches off of the dump tube for clearance and now it exits around the AC condensor and now I smell fumes. I'm just going to extend it with the flexible tubing.

open wastegate??? Are u wanting to melt your radiator and ac line? put a dump tube that leads into your dp and you wont smell a thing.

 

ya but thats boring, then you dont get to smell something that smells like **** all day long. I mean who wants that?

 

who needs AC ? get a piece of 1 3/4 " stainless and aim it down , mine still smells like gas when I stop but I like it . especially when running race fuel with coconut flavor.... I get a stiffy every time I smell it.
