You need to go see a referee and get a BAR sticker usually.

I've been hearing that I would need to get my ecu verified first...is that correct or would the P13 JDM ECU be acceptable?

I have been hearing that the P13 USDM ECU & JDM ECU are literally the same emission wise.

Has anyone had success on having a civic with a jdm h22 swap state referee'd with a jdm p13 ecu?

as long as the motor is 95 or newer you shouldn't have a problem.

So what did you have to do to get it done?

Are you referring to get the car to pass the referree or to get the swap done?

Actually, the JDM Engine does have all the necessary components necessary for the it to pass CA emissions. That or the swap that I got just happened to come with everything.

Anyway, one thing that you would definitely need would be the USDM P13 ECU for the engine that you have.

Once you have that, you should be all set. Oh be sure that if you engine is OBD1 that you have an OBD1 ECU.

Also, be sure that you don't have any loose or excessively long wires hanging out(Make sure they are all zipped tied and wrapped in electric tape as necessary).

The same with any rubber hoses(be sure that they are all clamped done nice & tight).

The number I called for the referee appointment is 1-800-622-7733
