i need a picture from underneith the car. if someone has a digital camera that be awsome if you could try and get a picture of the shift linkage. or if you know this answer... How does the shifter hook to the trany, cables, or those huge connecting rods.

w/ a cable...that is great!!, true, but still great!! Anyway, In order to get to the bolts that hold the cables in, you would have to remove the downpipe and the heat shield. once that is taken down, you will see 2 10mm headed bolts that hold the cables up onto the chassis. If you were to unbolt them at that location, from the tranny and from the shifter, it would come right out. It is routed up through the engine bay and then connects to the tranny shift arms by way of cotter pins. It will connect the same way on the shifter. However, i am not sure how knowing this will help.

 

^^ You forget the step of disconnecting the bracket from the rear crossmember.

 

yeah, i hate that damn bracket...i left my unhooked when i put my cables back in...this will not hurt anything would it?
