Tial Wastegate venting exhaust at idle?
Dumb question here, should the TIAL wastegate be venting exhaust at idle? Im pretty sure that i have the vaccum line hooked up right,
I am taking the pressure source from my uppper intercooler pipe instead of at the turbo, i have put a T in and one side goes to the pressure INPUT on my HKS boost controller the other side goes to the lower nipple on the TIAL , the upper nipple on the tial runs to my boost control solenoid on the output side.
Is this correct? Should my wastegate be venting exhaust as idle? Or did I pull my pressure source from the wrong location, should i just take the pressure source right off the turbo?
Thanks

mine vented at idle, found out it fucked up and i had to get a new one, under warranty. the valve didnt close all the way, so it leaked, plus my car never hardly reached full boost, it was always stuck open a small bit so it spooled up slowwww and ran like ****

Do this. Take a tee fitting and t off of the fpr vaccum line to the side port of your wastegate. Then take a piece of vaccum hose from the top of your wastegate to the boost solenoid.
Didnt think i was supposed to take a vaccum/boost signal from any source past the throttle body, at least taht is what the TIAL diagram shows.
You may have installed the wastegate not properly. Make sure the aluminum ring/seal that goes under the wastegate is flush when you place the wastegate on top of your manifold. It tends to come off when you're about to put it on. Try doing this, look under your WG to make sure it seating on there flat against the gasket. If not, you got the ring in an angle and is venting exhaust. I hope that fix it.
This is confusing the heck out of me, according to the HKS EVC instructions they are showing taking the wastgate signal from a source before the iintercooler, put a T connector in it, run one side to the EVC solenoid and the other side to the side port on the TIAL, then run the output from the EVC solenoid to the TOP of the wastegate. My question is, is thier anything wrong with taking the pressure/vaccume signal from the upper intercooler pipe on the passenger side? that is the way i have it hookedup now and my wastgate leaks at idle.

if you look in the pic at the line runnign from the top of the wastegate, you'll notice a vent, is that supposed to be there? i dont think that it is because it defeats the purpose of the "air control valve" you placed before it, it allows the reference signal to just escape to the atmosphere.
