how would you know if your wastegate is working properly or not?and as for the dumptube what is the use of it?

 

the wastegate is what regulates the amount of boost your turbo makes, if it isnt working your turbo will just keep creating more boost untill it reaches its own limits. As for the dumptube, its just to vent the exhaust down undreneath the car.

should there be exhaust fume blowing out of it?because when i stick my hand where the dumptube at idle i dont feel any air coming out of it.

 

so the boost guage reading should be where i set my psi of boost at if the wastegate working properly?
