if i were to build a home made turbo kit...
could someone please tell me all the parts i will need and suggest turbo size, intercooler size and cam specs. (not brands.)
i would like to build a kit for a b16 for use as both a drag and autox car. i'd like to have it scroll quick but also make decent power. (250?)

Do you plan to be competative in the AutoX? If so, you will be in SM and will be playing with some fast turbo cars. AutoX requires a much different engine dynamic than drag. Firstly, torque steer and wheel hop will kill you. Most of the really high-revving, high power cars you see on this site would not make very good Autox cars. Secondly there are very strict rules. The SCCA works opposite of the NHRA. The NHRA tells you what you cannot do; the SCCA tells you what you can do. Check out http://www.sccaforums.com and look in the Street Modified forum for some specific advice. They will likely suggest spending the most dough on the suspension and getting the car to the miminum weight for the class. (Note that turbo cars get a massive weight handicap in the class!) Your power goals should be conservative. You want consistant power, and you don't want to be limited by a "rev handicap". You shouldn't have to hit 6000 RPM to get into the powerband. If you do, you are going to be slow through the turns. Many of the Sport Compact cars I've seen compete in SM are running either small turbos like the TD05, or superchargers.
i've never done any autox but i'd like to get into it. i'd like to do solo1 but they only have solo2 around here i think.
i'd like it to be all in fun but i'd also like to do good.
plus it will still be a street car.

If you want quick spooling turbos, i'd look into getting a T28 turbo or Ball bearing turbos or even the smaller straight T3's. I would NOT go for the T3/T04 type turbos... there is just way too much lag on them.
also it might be helpful for you to just try out autox'ing on your stock cars and see what other people have in their setup and what works for them.

I second that. Many SCCA members frown on people who start out in a high class. Start in H-Stock against the other stock Civics, and as you learn how to drive you will really have a much better idea of what to shoot for in a turbo system. (unfortunately a turbo puts you straight into SM, one of the hardest classes to compete in)
