turbo kit HP?
I'm looking at a few options for my b16a3. Motor is built and ready, looking into a go autoworks turbo kit. When they state on their site that the turbo can produce upto x-amount of HP, are they talking about total with the engine HP or just the kit itself? They have a street kit for 2k looks decent and says kit is capable of 200-300HP?
I hope I'm wrong but if it means total HP with the engine, then $2k for a turbo kit that only puts out 40-160HP and the 160 would be at absolute full boost?? If so I'll guess I'll just go with one of the other kits that will leave a little room for play.

The limiting factor is the turbo. You can upgrade the turbo to a larger size wheel that will flow more air. Not one kit can be realistically labeled as a "40-160whp" kit because engine builds can vary from one persons build to the next and can be skewed by things such as compression/cams/headwork/tuning etc. The main thing that is going to significantly increase the power that the "kit" will make is the size of the turbo. The Go-Autoworks kits are really nice kits at a very affordable price. I pieced my first turbo kit together using Greg's components. You can buy the kit and upgrade the turbo and will be perfectly fine.

This car will be a weekend warrior car, street mostly and the track once or twice a month for LEGAL fun.
Lol well I would recommend going with this kit: http://www.go-autoworks-store.com/gorakit.html

That's cool, but the bottom end has already been built, it's done, been done, just looking into turbo kits because I really don't know enought about turbos to build my own kit, figured I'd just buy a kit and upgrade from there if I want to
Skunk2 pro series intake manifold
Rc 310 injectors (small I know)
AEM Fuel rail with gauge & an adjustment screw for the fuel ratio I think it is
Skunk2 racing cams (just looked to make sure)
Now what I was told not 100% sure
Forged pistons
Forged rods
Skunk2 camshaft
Upgraded valves
Upgraded springs

if u have forged internals u should be able to handle up to 500 horsepower provided they are quality parts. u will need much bigger injectors i have my 450s maxed out at 300 hp and just grabbed some 750s i personally would pull the head and pan off to see for myself though.

FYI, the guage on the fuel rail isn't for making adjustment...
and you are going to need ALOT bigger injectors for boost.
Also, before you boost it, take the head off to make sure you actually have forged interals and such.
