Default Audio Opinions Help and Advice

Obiously seeking all that information, I'm really not familiar with much more than twisting wires together, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I've done some searching and reading but there is so much information my brain is melting! lol Anyway we are building a system in a crx that will probably play mostly hip hop/rap. Right now I am stuck on which subs and amps and I am guessing I am going to need a cap or 2 and at least one crossover. We are running a Optima yellow top battery and I am looking at getting a high output alternator.

These are the components I have so far;
Kenwood KFC1079ie 4" RMS 20w speakers (Molded in doors)
Kenwood KFCT205ie Tweeter RMS 50w (Molded in doors)
Kicker RMB8 8" midbass drivers RMS 175w (Molded in doors)
Kenwood KFC1689ie 6.5" RMS 50 speakers (Will be molded behind seats in front of wheel wells)

Also for the rear I am looking at the 12" Kenwood KFC-W3009 RMS 400w. I haven't bought these yet. Any opinions on these?

On the amps, I'm really lost on what I need. The budget is looking at maybe something in the mid price range. I'm guessing I will need a 4 channel 4", tweeters and 6.5" speakers. And maybe a 4 channel to run the 8" and 12"s? I was looking at I think it was the Pioneer 6000 which is a 480w amp that is 4x100? What type of amp, channels etc would we need for say the 8" and 12"s?

Any suggestions on crossovers and caps would be great too.

Thanks, I know that was a lot for one post, but I thought I'd try to make it in one instead posting a bunch different topics. Thanks again!

Are you trying to build an all Kenwood system? If so I would suggest their High end amplifiers. Through experience, I have mush success with them when trying to achieve sound quality. However, I am confused as to why you you have a 8" kicker midbass. Are you going to make your own 3-way component set in your front doors with 8"s, 4"s, and tweets? As for the sub enclosure, I would recommend a ported enclosure tuned to around 33hz.

No, it doesn't have to be an all Kenwood system. Just thought if I kept most of the components the same and I was able to get the speakers at a good price. The subs and amps don't have to be Kenwood. I still need about 6k to finish the rest of the project and was hoping to build a some what decent system with minimal expense trying to keep in mind that you get what you pay for. No real specific reasoning for going with the 8s.

We are building a fiberglass enclosure in the back and if I could just build an individual sealed box for each sub I would prefer that but could do some more research and figure out the ported box. I have a real dumb question...lol...but if I were to use free air subs in the back, would they still require a box of some sort just as you would if doing a typical install?

Thanks for the reply!

Free air subs are just that...free air. What you need to do when using these types of speakers is mount to speaker face down to a board. Keep in mind that your main goal is to keep the front wave (the wave coming off the cone of the speaker) totally seperate from the back wave (the wave coming from the magnet size). If at any point these two waves meet up with each other, they will cancel each other out and you will end up with almost no sound.
