Default Amplifier Help

Hi,

I'm new to this forum. Site looks great. I'm looking into some input for amplifiers. At the moment I've got 4 - 12" JL Audio W6's powered by a Clarion 1000Watt/2 channel Amplifier in a custom enclosure. Now, I know that this amp does not have the power capable to run these 4 subs. I had a soundstream 605s that was running eveything before. That amp is now no good, but was hella powerful.

What amp do you guys suggest I get for this system in order to run the full potential of those subs? Also what configuration of the subs would you suggest? I'm looking to spend some money but don't want something too expensive..(if I could spend whatever, I'd would have gotten the Van Gough).

With this system, I am also running a Orion MBR70 with an Optima Yellow top battery and a 1 farad cap.

Any input would be really appreciated and thanks in advance.

D.

I'd get rid of 2 of the W6's. I think one is plenty, but that's just me.

I've considered that. But this car came from a custom shop. The box is all molded and sealed to the floor and eveything fits to the curves of the trunk. I just wouldn't look right for me to start removing pieces plus the box is designed for the air space of 4 of those particular subs. The car apparently won a lot of competitions, as i've been told. But I hear ya, One of those subs is enough to make you go deaf. Let me know if you have any other ideas. Thanks,

D.

You can't go wrong with a JL Audio amp, I don't think. I've never used one myself, but they have a great reputation.

I would get, depending on your money situation, either 2 JL 500/1 or 2 JL 1000/1. It will be clean, loud and when you put all JL equip. together its one of the best looking setups out there. The 2 500/1 will be loud and clean but the 2 1000/1 would be O.C. loud!!!
