Default Newbie, couple of questions

I have a 94 gsr, good comp across the board. I have 111,xxx miles. I am going to the darkside after some all-motor hi-jinx. I dont know too much about them so I thought I wold ask

Looking to get a quality kit and spending aprox. 3,000$ or so.

Pros and cons on the Rev Hard stg 2 and the Drag 3 Kit
Also what about putting a kit together, cheapturbo has some nice stuff.

Thanks for the help and insight

not trying to be a dick but many are gonna tell you to search. The Greddy vs drag vs whatever has been discussed many times.

My $.02 is to build your own kit. Spend the next few months reading on Honda-Tech and researching. I have some good websites for you to start with if you want. Then, piece together what YOU want, what you have read works well for others. You buy a kit and eventually as you gain more knowledge, you start replacing part after part, with what you REALLY WANTED.

Spend good money on the fuel/engine management, cheap out somewhere else, cause if you go cheap with the engine management, you'll run like **** and eventually **** something up.

or instead of you piecing together a kit, you could also buy a used one. Thats what i did and i got a great deal on stuff that had been used for only a few weeks.

research and piece your own kit. you will have a better setup for less money in the end.

I started out with a drag 3 kit... now the only things on my setup from that kit are some intercooler pipes, BOV, and the snail... the snail will be upgraded soon.

research & build own kit is the way to go...

I spent $700 Total on my setup... Not the fastest but its fun and I want to Auto-X rather than Drag race. Its also my Daily Driver She pulls but needs to be fine tuned...

well the best "kit" out there is the full-race kit from http://www.full-race.com but you can easily piece your own together. find out what your hp goals are and then just read the posts for what other people with that power are running. also as the other guy said dont skimp on engine/ fuel management. I personally run a t3/to4e on my gsr motor in my civic. I see full boost at around 4000rpm. im only boosting 11 pounds but the turbo maxes out at 400hp so it leaves room to expand. also to cut costs you can find some really good deals on used stuff. good luck.

so what are some good quality pieces, I have been looking at manifolds (full-race and love-fab) do i really need equal length or just a log will be fine. I will def go with a tial wastegate, but what is a good bov and fmic. Thanks for all the help.

What about a downpipe and its size? I am going to order my 3in exhaust from kteller. Also what is the diff in 4bolt or 5bolt flanges?

Sorry i dont know much, but i have been trying to learn all i can
