Default F23 and turbo

I did many searches to come up with very little info.. My friend is going to run a T3/T4 garret turbo on her '98 accord, with about 8lbs. of boost. She bought the car back in '02 with about 67K miles already on it. The car is 5 speed and we have no idea who the previous owner was. Now she's approaching 80K and I'm telling her, that's not the best way to go since she doesn't ever really "drive" her car.. After doing some searching I'm pretty sure doing a compression test would be first on the list of things to do.. What else do you guys have in mind? Also, do you think the motor can stand the boost? post up if you have a comment to put in, thanks.

That would be a nice setup and quite rare (most people with Accords go for looks anyways). On that stock block, 8 psi is still pushing it considering that motor was never made to rev high. Just make sure she has a reputable engine management system. Even if it will never be highly boosted, a professional tuned turbo'd car will run a whole lot better than just slappin on a kit and driving it. Post some pics when you guys (and gals) have it finished.

since its an F block(no frm) she could just throw in some forged pistons to be safe. thats what i would do

Thats the thing she's gonna lack, I really doubt her other friend is gonna put in a really good management system.. From what I remember, she's gonna run a VAFC but I'm not too sure if thats enough.. Main thing is that she doesn't run lean.

8 psi is no big deal with decent fuel managent... the f series are decently healthy motors. I think you would have a **** load of fun boosting... although the initial saving and accumulation of parts can be a bit boring.

I run a bit more psi than that on my f22 and the only issue was trying to drive straight... well I did accidently kicked a check engine cause the stock map no like boost.

I would do a compression check and if all is good... boost it. I would think about a new timing belt with that mileage and maybe a water pump while your at it (if you can afford the bit extra).
