abs leak
i have 1995 accord v-6 . my abs light came on today. i added some fluid and light went out. there appears to be a leak under a silver canister in abs unit. is this part replacable. is there another part in this area that could leak.
and no i don't want to take the bulb out to fix this.

Taking the bulb out does not fix the problem. It could be the master cylinder leaking and that would just need to be replaced. If you are not mechanically inclined then take it to a shop but this is a very easy part to replace. If you are gonna do it yorself make sure you have your shop manual with you while you are doing it to help you along.
the leak is in right front corner of engine compartment. the master cyl is on firewall on left rear side of compartment. the leak appears to be under a silver canister attached to abs unit.
The accumulator is #3 in the picture. Maybe the O-ring at the bottom where it attaches to the ABS modulator?

Majestic Honda doesn't seem to list that O-ring. You gotta buy the accumulator. Maybe you can get it at a dealer? Be careful to bleed out all the pressure so you don't hurt yourself...

the accumulator in the picture is right were the leak appears to be. i assume you bleed the pressure off at #1. how is the unit repressuized?
thanks for your picture. is it from a Honda book?

I don't have the book with me, this is from memory, based on a '95 integra, so be careful...
Bleed the pressure off at #1. The accumulator has a piston inside, & above the piston is high-pressure gas (nitrogen??) So if you take off the bolt at the TOP of the accumulator you let the nitrogen out, then you have to buy a new accumulator. I guess(?) you remove the accumulator by the bolt #5 underneath??
It's re-pressurized by the ABS pump next time you start the engine. At that time you'll have to add brake fluid to the reservoir to make up for what you bled off. Maybe you'll have to repeatedly bleed (#1) & add fluid, to get all the air bubbles out.
