Default Boost spike on turbo GSR....

Hey,
I am the owner of the former member "SleepyEG" 's Civic DX with a turbo'd b18c1 in it. For those of you who remember the car....

It was tuned by a friend at school for 10 psi but recently it has been consistantly spiking to 12-13 psi. It has the stock MAP sensor and I already know the dangers of this. My question is why? I checked all of the vacuum lines on the car and they are in place and the MBC hasn't been touched. It makes since that it would be the wastegate actuator, but how can I check that? Please let me know ifyou have suggestions.

Hey,
If you check the link in my signature it has the specs on the vechile. It's tuned for 11 psi using Uberdata, 14b turbo, homemade exhaust manifold, 550 cc/min injectors, Walbro 190lph, Precision FMIC.....

It just started spiking in the last week. Instead of going to 10 psi where the MBC is set, it first spikes to 12-13psi and then drops down. Now it does it every time I hit full boost. So the car isn't much fun to drive when I can't get on the gas...

Hey,
The weather has been a lot more humid. I'll have to think back, but the car has been turbo'd for about 9000 miles and never as far as I know had this many spikes. It's almost not even a spike; it's as if the waste gate isn't working properly. Everytime I give it close to full throttle it goes directly to 12.5 psi.

I turned the MBC 2 full rotations but there was no difference. I will have to do another two twists and see what happens. How many vacuum lines are there on the manifold? Maybe one is missing.... It wouldn't be that bad if I had the GM 3 bar map sensor.

the honda map sensor only will read 11psi max then will go into limp mode, does your car go into limp mode?

Hey,
It doesn't go into limp mode as far as I know, it just keeps pulling. I turned the MBC two more rotations with no effect at all. The car really just wants to boost to 13 psi every time I get on it.

Is there any way to tell if a waste gate actuator is bad? That is what I'm really leaning towards, just because the MBC has at little effect and it just keeps jumping to 12-13 psi. I wouldn't even call it boost spike, because it does it every time; like the MBC is set for 12 psi.

Any more suggestions?
