No problem...but people will take you seriously if you use complete sentences and don't come across as a cocky, snot-nosed brat.

I am not a cocky snot nosed brat. I'm not trying to be a jerk. but I wouldn't post a post asking "lay off the caps lock...please" and offer no help to the questions asked.that seems cocky to me. Also i'm not a veteran of the h22 and i'm a little lost, so if anything I'm humbled by everyone's knowledge.I just had the button pressed for login in and didn't wanna re-type the whole thing.

Well...I'll give you that.

Sorry about jumping on your case...if I hadn't someone else would have. Just the way things go around here.

I wish I could help you out, but I haven't gotten that deep into my Prelude, yet.

thanks anyways, I just sent my block out to golden eagle for sleeving and i'm worried about finding a crank now.AEBS wanted 3500.00 for a crank and crower wants like 2200.00 and you have a 6-8 month wait.I have raced big block chevy's my whole life, and these prices are just outragious. I can handle the 1200.00 for the sleeve job, but a crank shouldn't be this expensive. Do you think a stock crank will handle the 500 hp i'm wanting to produce??? And if so, do you know where i can get a stock crank without buying an entire engine.

Honda's are expensive.

I think it just comes down to the fact that there are many people that know domestics inside and out...and the presence of many comparible parts keeps the costs low due to competition.

With Honda's, you have the guys that know what they are doing (very few compared to the domestic aftermarket), and the people that just copy what the 'guys that know' have done.

Again...I don't have the personal experience to say whether or not a stock crank could handle 500+hp, but I would think that would be pushing it. I know the upper part of the block can't handle it, and many people up in that range choose to close the deck to add more stability.

yeah i've studied up for the top end. thats the reason for the golden eagle sleeves. I'm also going with J.E. pistons, Scat rods, Ferrea valves, springs, retainers, locators.I've build several race engines, but never a honda. I know the cranks are used over and over in the h series engines, but i don't know the horsepower capabilities. And these balancing shafts are very hard to find any info on.

why the hell are you using an SH block anyway? You will have to modify it to run any regular tranny...

Anyways...the balance shafts should not be different, and honestly on a fully balanced motor with lighter rotating assembly a lit of people just leave them out and block the oil passages.

An H22a can take 500whp...that's not a problem.

I'm using an sh because thats what I have.I came across the car as a debt repayment and decided to build it. It seems easier(and cheaper) to just do the base tranny swap and make the plate needed for the conversion.
