That's what you have to do, yes. Or you could beat the hole larger with a hammer.

your picture is too huge and blurry to comprehend what you're wantin to cut...

but on some CAI you do have to enlarge the hole that goes from the engine bay to where the stock resitnator sits.

I was just thinking of combining the tubing of an eBay cai with the superior filter of the Apexi power intake. Keep us updated on the progress, I may just have to make a copy.

if it is just splashing up he has nothing to worry about...It's when you completly submerge a filter when you need to start to worry.

i was just workin on it.. but its very diffictult to enlarge that HOLe with a hammer, so im about to try using a small saw.....

COST:

30$ ebay Intake With Filter
apexi intake (was on my car before i bought it)
6.99$ rubber attacthment and clamps

Plus im selling the ebay air filter to a friend for 15$ so this was a cheap mod

I used a dremel w/ carbide bit to enlarge mine. Time consuming & noisy, but it works.

[IMG]hey bud, i installed my CAI and had to cut that hole too, i just used a file, and a hammer, JUST REMEMBER TO EITHER PAINT OVER, OR COVER UP THE PARTS THAT YOU CUT, SO IT DOES NOT RUST OUT!!!!!!!! ...cuz it will
