Default Sohc Vtec Turbo 97 civic ex , quick question

i know this is probably answered before looked all around on search no results.

I have a 97 ex sohc vtec.... i know the greddy turbo kit with front mount intercooler can push around 6-7 psi on a stock engine. Whats the farthest you can go to run safe , im planning to run up to 10psi. For now i dont want to touch any internals, does anybody think ill be safe? I think over 10 is pushing limits.

I'm running 10 psi on my D16Y7 with the Greddy kit. It has been extremely reliable so far, including at the drag strip. I'm actually thinking about making more threads on the wastegate rod to push 12 psi because I've read in a post that some person was doing 12 psi all day without problems.

wow 12 pounds that serious on a stock engine, i would atleast do a thick headgasket for 10 pounds.... get some good fluids on the motor and transmision..... wow i cant wait to turbo my civic... i think im going to go with the greddy kit , seems very reliable never heard of any problems, and it should sound nice with a greddy evo exhaust... some people say its a garbage kit cuz it doesnt have power like some kits have, but id rather go with a reliable kit for now....

i have about 99k miles so hopefully nothing goes wrong... the car used to be my sisters she bought it brand new and never beat on it.... so its all city\highway miles

around 200 whp, so the boost pressure would be like 8-10 psi.

u would make about 150 whp and 150 wtq with a sohc vtec on 6-7psi boost with the greddy kit. Stock eng. you could run safely 12 psi boost, but with good tunning. 98ctr

i've run 11-12 psi daily for a year now and 20k miles...been boosted for 26k miles total...on a y7 stock internals. most of this was running the hack, but i switched over to uberdata 3k miles ago. just make sure you have a very good tune and 12-15psi is possible.

Stop asking about how much boost you can run.

Ask how much WHP you can make on the stock motor.

Nevermind about the afc hack , i searched it, it seems like u can run 10psi without a intercooler, using 450cc dsm injectors and afc controller set at 40% high and low throttle, with a high flow low pressure fuel pump,

Now trying to figure out if i need a fuel pressure regualtor

I would run a intercooler for anything over 8 if you want reliability

I would run an intercooler for anything over 0 psi.. Even if its a cheap one its much better than nothing..
