greddy turbo on a 97 d16???

Default greddy turbo on a 97 d16???

i have been doing some searching and it seems greddy doesnt make a kit for the 97 EX d16. anyone know why this is?

Why? CARB issues. Does it matter? Only if you live in an area where smog checks are still done. I've got a GReddy kit on my 98 EX, but Fl. stopped smogging cars a long time ago.

thanks. just a quick question...did you build your engine or are you running the turbo on stock motor?

stock motor for me now, even stock KIT, now, nothing but the greddy kit + BOV
but i am getting an spearco IC soon, if u are interested look at my sig

i would recommend a clutch too, contact Rocket here for GREAT deal...

Stock motor, 10psi + Hondata = 217.7whp/180tq

oh by the way VTC, how much WHP did u get at stock boost with and without the hondata??
No idea dude.. I never dyno'd it with the AFC-mod (though I should've), but I can tell you with 100% certainty that Hondata picked up pleanty of ponies. I'm easily as fast now @10 psi as I was @12 psi with the AFC-mod.

Word had it that stock D16 rods were marginal at 225 hp (crank), and unsafe beyond 245hp or so... then comes VTC_Civic and blows that theory to hell... It's not so much boost that's the problem... it's the power from the boost (or fuel/spark issues).

haha, yeah it seems some people can run more HP and not blow their motor and some cant

alot of it has to do with your timing. if you have it wrong, it creates alot of pressure on the rod while its exactly straight up, which causes it to bend, cause the pressure has to go somewhere. its gonna push the rod down one way or another.
