Default Leak down test good but still burning oil..wtf?

Compression tests were good with 195-210 psi in all four pistons.
Spark plugs look good (copper tanish color)
2-8 percent loss in all four pistons.

WFT? Valve guides maybe?

When your engine is running, squeeze the hose going to your pcv valve. If you hear a clicking sound, then your pcv valve is working correctly. Otherwise, you will need to change it.

Hope it helps.

How much oil are consuming anyway?

Well even if the PCV system is working, its still routing oil vapors into the IM which then enter the combustion chamber.

I dont understand how this could cause me to burn oil.

Its the Positive crankcase ventalator. Doesnt it take gases that blow by the piston rings and recirculates it back to the combustion camber right?

I had a smoking and burning some oil problem in the past. I ended up sending my head out and my valve guides were shot. Ever since then, the smoking and burning oil has gone away. If you have a lot of hard driven miles on the head, it might possible be the guides. A lot of people will say they hardly need changing, but I think they need to be changed much more often on hard driven motors.

It takes oil vapors that blow by the piston rings, said oil vapor is burned in the combustion chamber. Oil vapor is made of oil, that was once in your crankcase

Are you sure you don't mean valve seals? The guides don't prevent oil from entering the combustion chambers. In fact many heavy NA guys chop off the guides completely.

No, definately guides. You could physically move the valve while it was in the guide, which is an indicator of wear. At high rpms, the valve will move more and shifting the seal slightly causing a leak and blowby. I did everything except guides before that and nothing ever fixed my problem.
