gauges;

Boost; used to view rising/lowering boost pressure in manifold

Stoich air/fuel ; used to view how lean or rich in fuel mixture or balanced(stoich) the engine is running.

Oil Pressure; **not sure about this one**

EGT (exhaust gas temperature) ; used to monitor temperature in exhaust manifold, mainly used for tuning.

are there any other gauges i have not included? what are the 2 most important gauges ? cause i can't be having all these gauges lying around in my eg. i am willing to have a maximum of 3 gauges.

Um, normally used to tell oil pressure

 

Throw away the A?F sicne it's jsut a cheap narrowband it won't do you anything. the three most omporntat IMO are BOost, EGT, and oil pressure

In my car I have on the A pillar: Boost, Wideband A/F, oil pressure. In the center console, I have EGT and Oil temp and volt guage(needed to fill last hole) udner that is my boost controller and turbo timer

oil pressure from to what?

you mean oil pressure to the turbo?

 

engine oil pressure to ensure the lifeline of your engine is still flowing correctly.

i have boost, EGT and oil pressure in my A-pillar

J&S ultra safegaurd monitor, oil temp and water temp in my center console below my AVC-R.

my wideband o2 sits below everything where the ashtray used to be. during the night time i think i'm in an airplane.

 

hah me too. at night time it's a spaceship especially with the indiglo guages and my VAFC that I jsut sue for monitoring now sicne I have hondata(too lazy to sell VAFC) The VAFC is just udner the boost controller and turbo timer. everything lights up blue.

i concur

 

Water temp is also an important guage. The stock water temp gauge just not accurate enough for me. A very important gauge for tuning is a wideband meter. This lets you know exactly what A/F ratio you are running almost instantly. AEM wideband sensors are no a gauge type which displays numerical and graphical A/F values. Boost and Oil Pressure and youre good to go

 

I say the more gauges the better. If you have room, why not get as many gauges as you can? When it comes to monitoring your engine, it is important to have as much info as you can.

 

i have oil pressure, boost, and egt in my pillar. then i have water temp, and fuel pressure in my guage bezel. i have a wideband display above my steering column, and then a tach on my dash.

if i had to pick 3 they would be, boost, oil pressure, and probably a wideband air/fuel. if you cant afford a wideband then go with the egt.

haha yeah quite a bit of guages. hard tot ake in soemtimes lol.. I also have a shift light too but I did not want that eye sore big thing sticking out anywhere on the dashetc so I put it behind the driver side far vent which usually does nothing anyways You can just see it behind the vent on the very bottom left(blue lens) I left the condom off, so if it is ever too bright. all I have to do is angle the vent fins slightly away from my eye and it's still super bright just not directly at me. it's perfect.

I used an RPM switch and some 4500 mCD LEDs, and mounted the LEDs inside the gauge bezel. They're almost invisible, and waaay too bright at night.

Hrm sounds interesting. should get some pics of it lit up :D I have a bucnha hypbright LED's I could rig up something but meh I'm too lazy.
