definitely if the a/f is a wideband thats numero uno, but if no wideband then:
Boost
EGT
Fuel Pressure
Boost
EGT
Fuel Pressure

I feel you should have Boost,Oil Pressure,Water Temp.
I think water temp is a very important gauge also.

boost, wideband afr, and oil pressure would be my choices. If you cant get a wideband go with the egt....autometer afr gauges are just about useless.

How can oil pressure be more important than boost? Dont you need to know how many psi your boosting to? And an EGT will tell you if your running rich or lean. If its lean you could blow your motor! Again more important than oil pressure IMO.

with out oil pressure you are sitting duck. You cant go with no pressrue thats why it is so important to monitor. all the damn oil lines we have all taht makes a difference. When one blows out you are done. so its highly importnat to watch the guages

I'd say boost, and EGT definately.
The third one is a tossup though. Either oil, or fuel pressure. Both are very important fluids, and both share the same trait that if either fail, you're focked.

Hey Steve!
Any experience with the autometer EGT?
Is it very accurate?
I would like to save up and get a good one, so don't want to waste my $$ on something I won't be happy with.

Boost, water temp, and oil pressure. Next I'd say Tach, fuel level and speedo for the POPO
and for NA$CAR cars
and for NA$CAR cars

Are you kidding? Your motor can die any time. I've saved a few motors by keeping an eye on the oil pressure gauge, your oil pump can take a crap, i've had the pickup screen get sucked into the pickup tube and result in almost 0 oil pressure, lots of crap can happen even when you're not boosting. A boost gauge is nice, but other than to know how much boost you're running, you really don't need it if you have a wideband and/or EGT guage. Oil pressure is a must.

Concerning oil pressure. You dont really care about the pressure, as long as its not low. Its too bad the oil pressure light is so useless. Is there anyway to make it come on at a higher threshold? I would like to be able to skip the gauge and just use a warning light.

What?????? Oil Pressure is one of theee most important things to watch!
If the pressure is low then there is something wrong with the motor and you should stop driving it esp. when it comes to a turbo car.
If pressure is = 0 then you shouldnt driving before you spin a bearing.
Who cares about the AFR if it's tuned properly.
edit- boost and afr guages are for ricers..

Re: What do you think are the Top 3 MUST HAVE Gauges? (ekb18c)
I have oil pressure, oil temp, and boost (and a fuel pressure guage on my fuel rail)
I think the first and foremost important guage if a car is properly tuned and not running a fmu is oil pressure. It is the "blood supply" of any engine. Losing oil pressure is the eqivalent of a heart attack!
