cool thanks. i just thought it was the 4th runner because the last injector is furthest on the rail so that should tell if you're running rich/lean.

ALSO...how far does the probe need to be away from the block? The auto-meter instructions suggest 4-6 inches but the 3rd runner is only like 3 inches long..where should i put it? thx

isn't 1-2 in" from the head too close? I'm just thinking that if you want to measure the gas temp and the head up of the block/head.. you could be 3-4? Just a tought (from the jet engine testing days)....

Lastly, what is the absolute temp to not exceed at which location.... I've read somewhere that I should see 1300 +/- 50 degF?? true?

You don't want to hit 1,600... stay below 1500. but also be sure which side you are on. 1,500 could be too rich, or too lean

thanks for the pic, but does anyone have a pic of the actual DRAG mani?? The runners are tiny and i really don't think there is a good spot to tap it where the probe won't be at an angle...doh

True but were not looking at the firing order here simply counting from left to right, right?

3-4" from the head is usually the hottest location depending on timing. We Dyno test engines at my work every day and this is our experience.

Starting from the timing belt in numerical order: Cylinder one, Cylinder two, Cylinder Three, Cylinder four. The picture you posted shows the EGT Probe in cylinder two.

Honda's firing order is 1,3,4,2. Cylinder one with camshafts pointing upwards or "0" degrees, cylinder 3 90 degrees counterclockwise, cylinder 4 180 degrees, and cylinder 2 270 degrees counterclockwise.

EDIT: INCORRECT FIRING ORDER *someone playing with my head?* Honda's firing order has always been 1342 on every four cylinder I've seen.

sup ash?

do you think the 3rd runner has enough room to tap also? my EGT's on the way.

just curious - how come you didn't use drag the cold air extension on the air filter to locate it under the battery? that's where I put mine.
