need help enhanced willem programmer
im a newbie i have a enhanced willem burner. i cant seem to burn or erase the chips at all. i know with these chips its suppose to erase it before it burns or something like that. every time i try and burn the chip i get a error:write sector #. or when i tried to erase it will get to like 99a and then say erase chip fail (time out) ive read the article on boosted-hybrid and everything. i have the pins right. i dont know what else it could it be. i jumped 3 and 31 with a lil peice of wire. set the light to it says at29. hardaware is present, it reads the chip, ids the chip, but cant erase it or burn a uber program. i know it cant be the chip as i got 1. it worked fine for my friend when he was running hondata. i been trying to figure this out for the last past 3 days and getting now where. i tried all the older programs still no luck. i also checked out the willem forum but had no luck try and register cause i seen a guy who has the same problem as me but he didnt get no replies yet and i still didnt get my password so i can login and post this was like 2 days ago. does anybody have any idea what could be possibly going on. any info much appreciated
I don't believe erasing works at all with the 29c256 chips, im pretty sure it always gives that timeout. You never need to normally erase them, you just write over and over. As far as the problem writing them I recommend using the .97g release of the software as it is the most stable, make sure you are not orienting all of the switches backwards(some of the older versions the diagrams can be confusing as to which is on and off). Make sure you are in fact inserting the chip properly as show below. Make sure you are still using a working chip, they do occasionally go bad, especially if they have ever been inserted backwards or improperly.
i just wanted to say think u so much. it works now and i would have never even thought that being on the net would give me errors. there is other people in the same shoes as me i just hope they find out this could be a reason y. again thanks and im glad i posted this here. h-t.com rules
