I got a gsr swap in my eg and it has been fine for a few years, but a few weeks ago it starting making a kind of clattering noise at any rpm, over 4 grand. It almost sounds like something is loose in the head. Is it safe for me to just pull the vavle cover off and start torqueing (to spec) everything in sight? Is there anything else I should check when I have the valve cover off? Could this be a sign of needed valve adjustment? Any assistance or ideas welcome.

Dude still did not get your IM, and what are and how hard is it to change rod bearings if there toast?

 

adjust valve lash maybe??

 

take off your oil pan and see if pieces of metal fall out


better hope you didn't spin a bearing, it would be a PITA for you, not to mention the cost
