Default vtec not working (help)

I cant hear or feel vtec working. What are some things I can check to figure out the cause of it. Ever since I went turbo vtec has not been working. Any help would be great.

heres a thought... maybe ur burning mad oil... and ur level is low, which would cause vtec to not work, AND cause u to run 14.3 on 8lbs... ?

edit: meaning u have no rings left so ur not making power (14.3) and then it burns the oil (no vtec (even LESS power)).

if you're low enough on oil to not activate vtec... i wouldn't turn the engine on. especially w/ an oil cooled turbo... you could smoke bearings in block and turbo and that would be a HUGE expense. are you throwing a CEL (check engine light)? if so: whats the code? theres all sorts of things you should be checking out.

and yes, 14.3 w/ 8psi doesn't sound right, thats either a horrible tune, or you have some problem.

I am throwing a cel. I dont know if I did the jumper right. When I broke it down the code was something to do with automatic transmission code. Ill check again.

did you check if the solenoid is good? throw a 12v through it and it should click, if it doesnt than your problem is a bad solenoid. If your car wasnt originally Vtec double check your wires. good luck with it, 1!
