Alright. I'm just wondering what you all think out there. It seems to me that people who own EG hatches think they are god's gift to mankind. and the people who have Ek hatches are worthless. so it seems that when I want to sell my Ek hatch or trade for a EG hatch of something similiar to what I have, the EGs are like, give me money AND your clean title car for my salvage titled car.

Yes, I would like a EG hatch, it would complete my collection of hybrids that I have. but I dont see the reason why I would have to GIVE away my Ek w/Sir2 swap, LSD, power windows all that stuff and CLEAN title for a EG with a salvaged title, stock, or even one with a h22 in it? H22s are not that expensive,

ANYWAYs back on topic, so whats the deal? EGs are better than EKs? more expensive than an EK? whats the dealio?

well for those drag racers, an EG is lighter than an EK. some people just prefer EG's over EK's.
people just have different tastes than others.

 

I think you are talking to the wrong people. I see no reason why a car that is a couple years older with most likely more miles would be worth more. It is just stupid. Don't you dare trade your car plus cash for an eg!!

 

weight, cost and obd1 vs obd2 is why eg&gt;ek

 

EG = OBD1 Not as many problems with check engine lights, and you are able to use high flow cats without running into emissions problems.

 

well, all my eks are converted to Obd1 and still retain the obd2 harnesses.. i guess that very few people would do this but any jumper harness would fix that problem..

maybe its location too? cali people seem to think the Eg is getting extinct, and maybe so, but not in las vegas where I live..

weight? how much, 300 lbs?

dont you ever think about trading that for an EG the only better thing is the weight. The exterior of the EK looks so much better and so does the interior IMO.
But that trade is deff. not worth it.

my love for honda first started when i saw a fast *** eg, but im not gonna hate on ek cause they're cool too. wat the hell GET THEM BOTH!!!

 

i would rather have an EG, i have drove them, i like my car and all..but for fun factor, an EG is worth the money, not worth a trade and cash from the EK owner tho.

 

EG's look like EGGs. Especially the white EGs.

i dunno i own a ek and a eg and i like things about both of them i just think the eg is more apealing looks wise i also do like the fact it looks alot sleekier so to say then the ek its a car also that people look at it and think it is just a groery getter or a poor college kids car and then when they try to race ya and get smoked it makes them be like wtf!!!!!!!! and as far as my ek i like it cuz it is a newer car i dont think the ek is as comfortable as the eg also just my 2 cents

I think you can make both look very sick, but with identical set-ups and drivers, the EG will be faster.

I like the EK!!!!

 

I used to be TOTALLY obsessed with EGs for years. I actually felt kinda dumb when i bought my EK h/b. Then i came upon this posting of EKs https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=594775in H-T and totally fell in love with EKs. i duno... in a way im glad honda made them so much different. i like both, but im all over the EK9s now.

the longevity has always appealed to me with EKs and thats probably the overpowering reason for me to stick with a '97 instead of going with something like a '93.

 

i love my ek. i drove my bro's eg when he had one and it was all fucked up. but i still like the way eg's look but to me, ek's look 100x better. its all on what you want and what you think looks best.

 

at first I wanted a eg real bad but over my long seach to find the right car ek's just started growing on me more and more. I still like the look of eg's but the ek's just look better.
