EK or EG Hatch?

EK or EG Hatch?
I am looking to pick up a Civic Hatch by the end of the summer and I am stuck on whether I should go for the EK or EG hatch. Both are good in my mind, but I am not having much luck finding many EG hatches, and the EK's are a bit out of my budget. However, I am not done looking, and I wanna know if there are any advantages/disadvantages between the two. From what I can tell, the EK has more cargo room, which is an advantage to me, but I like the sleeper-look of the EG. Anyone care to educate me?

What exactley are you asking ? Its more of personal pref. I have the EG, I like the look better, some people like the EK. But if the EK is out of your price range then I guess there really isnt much debate is there ?

its a preffernce budget thing. theyre both great platforms for whatever you might want to do. just dont get a b18b. trust me, theyre dumb.

ek has a "classier" look whereas the eg has a "sportier" look. eg is odb-1 which may be important down the road when it comes to emissions testing and tuning.
just depends on what you want. I think that the ek has nicer styling, but thats a personal preference thing. It isn't really any "better" than the eg.

I have owned 2 EG hatches and am about to purchase my 3rd. I like the EKs, but I would only get one if I could get a GREAT deal on a 99-00 model. I personally like the EGs better. Just something about the styling. Also doing swaps is much easier (some may argue).

Id rather rock the EG for all out ***** racing, but if your going for sporty looks and a good street cruiser id go with the EK.
I think a CF hood on any EK looks badass, how it comes down around the grill...yeah i thought id throw that in there.

EK is more of just a daily driver imo.
If you want to go crazy with it then get the EG.
If the EK is really out of your price range then stick with the EG. Mods for it are fairly cheap too.
It's going to be your car so get the one you like.

I don't know why people have the impression that EG is all-out hardcore race (I know that its lighter obviously). I think it makes just as good a daily driver as an EK. I just like the bodylines of the EG more.

I have an EK with a B18B turbo and it is mad fast. The car was fun when it didn't have a turbo on it also. Don't disrespect the LS because it is a great platform and it has much more torque than a B16A. I have driven a bunch of B16's and without the torque you'll just end up getting speeding tickets because you can't feel anything. Everyone votes for the B16A over the B18B when deciding on a swap, and I'm glad I went with the LS.

Oki. I dont want to seem like a jerk. But ive seen this post about 5 times in the last 3 to 6 months! If you do a search one of threads has alot of good information on pros and cons EG or EK! it really covered everything well!! Me I have a EK now but some day soon i will have a EG as well! Just becasue I am a fool like that!
