broken cat...? what should i do?
im like 90% sure i got a broken cat.
when i start the cat it rattles like metal inside a confined space, this is due to the pressure from the exhaust gas running through that causes the broken piece to dance around the inside?
at certain low revs it rattles like hell and a bit higher it doesn't rattle, probably due to the fact that there is enough exhaust pressure to keep it in place?
my problem is i want to get it fixed ASAP but haven't had time it's the 2nd day now and it stopped rattling...
does this mean it's completely broken and now bits and pieces are in the resonator and muffer?
is my jdm catback gone as well?
what should i do?

maybe the heatshields...
mine used to rattle on startup, or whenever rocks would bounce around in them. i took off all my heatshields except the one by the gas tank, and have noticed no ill effects, and dropped a bit of weight.
edit- after re-reading your post, i think one of your exhaust connections is just loose. i had only 1 bolt holding my header to my cat, and it did exacty as you describe. hondas don't have a flex pipe, so you are maybe hearing the metal on metal connections of the header-cat or the cat-bpipe.

Yeah, could be heatshields, but I've had cats die before too and rattle like crazy. He's "90% sure"..
but if it is the cat, easy/cheap enough to get a high flow one. I doubt any material made it to the cat-back exhaust, and even if it did it would probably not do much harm.

It's JDM... must be that damn "Meowth" from Team Rocket (Pokemon). I hated that cat anyway, bury that damn thing.

do u have a aftermaket header installed? and did u installed the header supporting bracket at the collector? it could be the cat hitting the heat shield without the support from the bracket.
