Replacement Cat. Help.
Theres rattling when my car is cold at 1.5k rpm and im pretty sure its coming from the cat. something is probally loose inside. So i was just planning on replacing it. What aftermarket cat. would you guys recommend me getting?
are you sure its your cat and not a heat shield? also, there have been tests done on honda's, on superhonda and a high flow cat does nothing more than a stock one. unless you are using bigger exhaust. but for a cat-back, nothing.
Very well could be the heat shield, and as always check something like a shield before you replace the cat. Also, there are numerous heat shields on the manifold (top and bottom part), cat, catback portion of the exhaust, and the car itself. Try to pinpoint the noise, and check out that area thoroughly. One more little note: I have seen the inside of the resonator come apart and make a very annoying rattling noise. A resonator is much cheaper than a cat for the most part. Good luck!
