Default D16 Timing Question?!?!

OKay so yesterday i picked up a timing light, a basic one with no read out or anything( i am strapped fo cash), and i was wondering hwo to do my timing, i read you need to unplug a sensor, the service jack or something to do this. I searched but didnt find any write-ups on how to do simple timing on a d-series engine, any help would be much appreciated

you are supposed to short the service connector... refer to the stickied thread "ECU Codes for Everyone" on where and how to do this.
